Where can I check if I have Families as a Benefit?
Once you log in to your LastPass Business account and open your vault, you will see Account Benefits in the left navigation, where you can activate your Families as a Benefit account.
Can I claim Families as a Benefit without linking a personal account?
Yes – Families as a Benefit can be claimed without having to link a personal account.
What if I don't want to activate the offer?
While we certainly recommend it, you are not required to activate the Families as a Benefit offer. If you ever change your mind and want to activate it, the Account Benefits option in the left navigation will remain in your vault for you to claim at any time for the duration of your employment at KSM.
Can I deactivate it if I no longer want the offer?
Yes – if you change your mind and decide you don't want it, you can deactivate Families as a Benefit.
Can I give the offer to someone else?
No – this offer is only available to employees with a LastPass Business account and can only be activated within the vault of the LastPass Business user's KSM business account.
Will I ever be charged for Families as a Benefit?
No – this is a complimentary LastPass Families account that is included in each LastPass Business user account through KSM at no added cost.
I already have LastPass Premium or Families, can I still claim the offer?
Yes – existing customers who have purchased a LastPass Premium or Families account will be migrated to the Families as a Benefit account once the offer has been activated in the employee's LastPass Business user account.
Will I be reimbursed if I already paid for LastPass Premium or Families?
No – existing customers who have already paid for LastPass Premium or Families will not be reimbursed for a personal account that they have already purchased.
What happens if I am terminated or leave the firm?
Shortly after you (a staff member) leave and are separated from the LastPass organization, you will be prompted to purchase your own LastPass Families account by entering your own personal payment information. If you choose not to purchase a LastPass Families account, you and your designated "Family Member" accounts will be converted to LastPass Free accounts without the risk of any data loss.
Important Note: You will never lose any of your stored vault items if you convert to a LastPass Free account. However, LastPass Free accounts only allow you to access LastPass from one device type (i.e., either all computers or all mobile devices).
I already have a LastPass Families account, will I lose any of my shared items or folders when I claim my Families as a Benefit offer?
No, all of your shared items and folders will remain shared (as-is) after you claim Families as a Benefit.
What is account linking, and why should I use it?
You can link your personal LastPass Families account to your KSM LastPass Business account so you can keep your vault entries all in one place while both accounts remain separate. If desired, you can always unlink your personal account at any time if you no longer want to access your personal vault items while logged in to your LastPass Business account.
Can KSM or my family/friends on my LastPass Families account view the contents of my personal vault?
No – regardless of whether you choose to link your personal Families as a Benefit account with your LastPass Business account, KSM will never be able to view or access your personal vault, nor the vaults of your Family Members in your LastPass Families account.
Similarly, in your personal LastPass Families account, each person can only access their own personal vault (regardless of their role in LastPass Families – Family Owner, Manager, or Member). This means that nobody can view or access another person's vault within the account. However, you and your LastPass Families users can choose to proactively use the Sharing Center to share individual items (passwords, payment cards, secure notes, etc.), or create a shared folder and fill it with items to share with another person within your LastPass Families account.
I have activated Families as a Benefit and added my family/friends – where should they go if they need support from LastPass?
The Families as a Benefit offer provides "Personal" level support for its LastPass Families users. This includes access to the 24/7 LastPass Support Center (which offers various self-help articles, videos, and additional resources) as well as access to the LastPass Community (for crowd-sourced support, which is monitored by LastPass Specialists). If additional assistance is needed, these LastPass Families users can submit a case via our 24/7 Support Center to contact LastPass Support.
