Engagement - ERROR: PFXSYNPFTService.exe not running

ISSUE:
"The Synchronization Service program (PFXSYNPFTService.exe) is not running" when synchronizing a binder in CCH® ProSystem fx® Engagement or Workpaper Manager.



THESE RESOLUTIONS ARE ONLY FOR LOCALLY INSTALLED ENGAGEMENT. NOT HORIZON ENGAGEMENT.


RESOLUTION 1:

  • Close all Microsoft Apps
  • Close Engagement
  • Click the Windows button
  • Type appchecker and select CCH ProSystem fx Engagement App Checker UI
  • When the dialog window appears, select Fix All



  • Close appchecker and re-open Engagement


RESOLUTION 2:

  • Close all Microsoft Apps
  • Close Engagement
  • Click the Windows button
  • Type appwiz.cpl
  • Locate CCH ProSystem fx Engagement
  • Select the Repair option
  • Re-open engagement and sync a binder
