Basic Setup

• Change Power Settings: Settings>Power & Sleep>Replicate Setting in Image Below

• Install Windows Updates
• Install Dell Command Updates or equivalent
• Remove Bloatware
  1. Remove built in Office 365
• Enable BitLocker Encryption and Save Recovery Keys 

Client Specific Setup

Note: Most of all applications listed can be installed from \\noble-dc\NCS IT Data\Applications

• Download and Install Google Chrome: Google Chrome - Download the Fast, Secure Browser from Google
• Download and Install Firefox: Get Firefox for desktop — Mozilla (US)
• Download and Install VLC: Official download of VLC media player, the best Open Source player - VideoLAN
• Citrix Files/ShareFile for Desktop and Outlook – web install.  company is Noblecon, map to S:\ (default) and use company sign-in.  
• Citrix Workspace – web installation
  1. Many users utilize TeamEWP. They access this by having Citrix Workspace installed and opening the TeamEWP file (which is a .ica file) from the NAIC website that they have access to. Make sure .ica files are defaulted to open with Citrix Workspace
• ZAC and Fax driver 64-bit
• Zoom and Zoom Outlook Plugin – Make sure Zoom gets integrated with Outlook in general settings. Download from: “Download Center for Zoom Apps and Plugins | Zoom” (Install during user setup/login)
• Domain join (noble.local)
• Adobe Pro (Usually Adobe 11) APPLY 11.023 update before opening Adobe
  1. The Adobe licenses are in \\noble-dc\NCS IT Data\Applications\Adobe Acrobat Std XI
• Copy Noble05 RDP (\\noble-dc\NCS IT Data\Applications) file to public desktop
• Install S&P Global for Excel (noble-dc\NCS IT Data\Applications\S&P Global Pro)

• Duo required on all PCs (lvl 2) Copy setup from
  1. Do not fail open, use auto push (defaults)
  2. Have end-user setup offline access so they are not locked out of the PC!
  3. For Lenovos the time synch must be enabled. See pics below
  4. Go to control panel, date and time, set date and time, internet time, Change settings, check the synch time option, select update now, select ok, and finally close all the windows out.

Per user

• If a replacement computer, backup everything on documents, desktop, and pictures.
  1. Inquire if there is anything they need from downloads.
  2. OneDrive can be used for the majority and the rest can be transferred via a network share on \\noble-dc\Users or via thumb drive.
  3. If bookmarks and passwords need to be grabbed from web browser, just create or log into their email account on the web browser to sync it all.

Onboarding

• Activate Duo
  1. Make sure all users have Duo Mobile app installed on their phones
  2. Send activation code via text from Duo admin center
• Log into the user account
  1. Setup Offline Duo account (Pops after duo authentication)
• Clean up the taskbar
• Default apps to Google Chrome and Adobe 11
• Pin Office apps and Google Chrome to the taskbar
• Log them into their Office account
  1. Log them into OneDrive and Teams
• Activate their ShareFile account via account creation email
  1. Log them into their ShareFile account
  2. Show them how the S drive/ShareFile app works
     • Via File Explorer and sign in from system tray occasionally
• Setup a Google Chrome account under their noble email for syncing bookmarks
• If available, log them into their Zultys Zac app for phones
  1. Hand off their phone numbers and extension
