Axcess Tax - Conversion guidelines [GoSystem RS > Axcess Tax]
ISSUE: Predecessor Firm uses GoSystem RS to prep returns. SOLUTION: This guide can be provided to predecessor Firm to give us the backups needed to convert to Axcess Tax. GoSystem RS Client Data Conversions An unmodified PDF produced from the GoSystem RS software must be created for each return to be converted. For best results, please keep the following points in mind when preparing to create PDFs for conversion. DO Create PDFs immediately prior to submission. Assure bookmarks containing tax forms, worksheets, and statements are listed under the ‘Federal’ bookmark. Assure PDFs contain footer information including the Client Code/Locator assigned to each tax return. Assure Form 4562 exists in 1040 returns for accurate auto linking. Assure K-1 Review Statements exist in 1040 returns for full conversion of Passthrough Income by following these steps. To Create K-1 Review Statements – Log into the GoSystem RS Website. Go to Admin, Tax Defaults o Select the tax year being converted (2018 - 2021) and Open. Go to Tax Return Options, Detail Schedules Tab. Check K-1 Review. Also check Schedule K-1 Report (Summary, Missing K-1s, and Estimated K-1s), if not already checked. Close Tax Defaults. Continue creating and preparing PDFs for returns to be converted, referring to pg 7-8 for detailed instructions. Remove any print settings preventing critical tax data from being included in the PDF, such as detail statements or depreciation detail. Remove settings allowing unsupported alternate forms from printing, such as 1040-SR or an ‘EZ’ type form, prior to creating the PDFs. Review a sample set of PDFs to be submitted to assure they contain a full tax return under the ‘Federal’ bookmark and include a bookmark for Page 1 of the tax return to be converted. (i.e. Form 1040, Page 1) DO NOT Use PDFs created and archived for other purposes. Rename PDFs after creation by GoSystem RS. Password-protect individual PDFs within a submission. Encrypt or ZIP individual PDFs submitted as part of a batch submission. Separately encrypt the submission file. Create PDFs with a print setting allowing alternate versions of the main tax form, such as 1040-SR or ‘EZ’ form. Suppress worksheets, statements, or other white paper detail. Doing so will severely limit conversion content. Alter PDFs after creation in any way. Scanned images inserted into the PDF will prevent conversion. Additional PDFs inserted into the tax return PDF will prevent conversion.
