The record was never actually rejected from any taxing authority This message indicates that another CCH Client has exported a record with our client's EIN The EIN was keyed by mistake OR The record was prepared for our client by another CCH firm RESOLUTION: Confirm the EIN we have on file is correct If the EIN is NOT correct, then correct and re-export If the EIN is correct, then Paper file, if before deadline Paper file with history, if after deadline Axcess - Launch the E-Filing Status System

Axcess - Roll forward a return (Missing Years)
ISSUE: Need to roll-forward a return multiple years to bypass missing, unfiled years SOLUTION: See the steps below Open Axcess Return Manager Enter the client name/number Locate the year of the return you want to roll forward Select the checkbox of the return Select Roll Forward from the toolbar Select a Tax template that corresponds to your return type, this is mandatory Select Create The return will roll forward, have the template settings applied, and open up Calculate the return and save it Close the return Repeat the steps above until the desired year is created Please always select save to establish the return. If you close and do not save, the return will be removed with no recovery option available, even if you have worked on it.

ISSUE: The client has requested direct debit payments for their e-filed Indiana Individual tax return RESOLUTION: To set up direct debit for the e-filed Indiana individual tax return, see steps below Go to General > Basic Data > 4 - Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Withdrawal Select the Detail button Line 1 > Enter "IN" in the State box Line 3 > Select the checkbox Line 5 > Enter date only if applicable Lines 8 - 11 > Enter Name of Bank, Routing #, Account#, Type of account Line 15 > Select the checkbox Line 17 > Select "All states/Cities" Line 28 > Select "Domestic account"

CCH Axcess Tax - Delete Tax Return (senior associate and above)
ISSUE: Staff requests that a return gets deleted RESOLUTION: Senior Associate level and above have been given the right to delete returns in the CCH Axcess Tax system. There is a 90 day window from the time of deletion to restore the return if it was inadvertently removed. PROCESS: Open Return Manager and locate the specific return to delete Highlight the single return Either press the delete key on the keyboard or select the delete option from the menu bar Accept the default options in the delete return dialog box Select OK to finalize the deletion of the specific tax return Select the Recycle Bin option to restore the tax return (within 90 days of original deletion) https://support.ksmcpa.com/support/solutions/articles/20000111666 You do not need to notify the Help Desk if you remove a return on your own

ISSUE: How many days do staff have to resubmit a rejected state return electronically or paper file? RESOLUTION: Perfection periods, for each type of return, are shown below: If the return is rejected on the deadline, you have the number calendar/business days (listed below) from the due date of the return to e-file the corrected return. For example: A 1040 return is e-filed and rejected on April 15, the return can be corrected and resubmitted, no later than April 20 (five calendar days after reject). If the return cannot be filed electronically, it must be paper filed by April 25 (ten calendar days after reject)*. If the return was rejected on April 14, it must be resubmitted by the 15th to be timely filed. The five-day rule applies only if the rejection is on or after the deadline. Notes: In the event that paper filing is required after rejection, we advise including a copy of the rejection detail and return history with the paper filed return.
