Axcess Tax - Upload error when electronic filing return
ISSUE: "Upload Error" when electronic filing a return in CCH Axcess Tax "The following error occurred while performing requested operation: Error occurred during I/O operation." SOLUTION: Remove the PDFs from the return and re-attach. The problem is that Axcess Tax is not being given an opportunity to actually attach the file first and the calculation process is interfering with the file upload. **see notes at the bottom for other ways to resolve this issue Check the PDF attachment section to make sure a PDF exists, the View Attachment button should be colored and selectable Remove the PDFs from the return Attach the PDF again, but wait until the window below shows and goes away Calculate the return again and export it to electronic filing *Note*: If you continue to receive the error message after following the steps above, please try the following: Reduce the file size Open the file in Adobe > Select File > Reduce file size > wait for the new file to be created Alternatively, print the color PDF to adobe again and change the color to B&W Save the PDF on your local machine from which the return is being exported (Desktop, Documents, Downloads) and attach it from there rather than a network location Minimize the length of the file name

KSM Employee Personal Return Procedures Staff personal returns should be secured by selecting Manage, Secure Return, Password. Only secure your personal, not ALL of your employee prepared returns Although it is our intention to efile all staff personal returns, it is not required as KSM is not the paid preparer. If efiling, you are no longer required to submit 8879s, just secure and retain them as we may need them in the future. All personal returns are required to have the following number format: 99000.####XX, where #### is your unique ID number and XX is a numeric increment starting at 01, i.e. 99000.123401, 99000.123402, etc. Click here to find out how to locate your unique ID: PE - How to Locate Your Unique ID for Tax Returns *NOTE*: Do not use the Sub-ID field for personal returns.
